21st International congress of the European Society of Toxicology In Vitro (ESTIV2020)

The general theme of the congress is “Key enabling non-animal technologies for research, education and testing”. This slogan is fully reflected in the eight thematic sessions to which you can submit abstracts for oral or poster presentation. Abstract authors will be invited to prepare an original research manuscript or review paper to be taken into consideration for the ESTIV2020 proceedings that will be published in the journal Toxicology In Vitro.

Swiss 3Rs day 2020

3 September 2020, Bern

The scientific programme will consist of dedicated sessions on each of the 3Rs with invited lectures and abstract presentations providing up-to-date information on replacement, reduction and refinement of animal experimentation. Keynote lectures as well as an awards lecture by the recipient of the 3RCC 2020 3Rs Award will complement the programme.

​The 3Rs Day represents a unique opportunity for Swiss scientists to present their research, interact with colleagues and learn about progress in the application of the 3Rs principle. At this occasion, the 3RCC will also launch its 2020 Open Call for Projects.

3rd Symposium on Replacements to CO2

24th of September 2020, Bern, Switzerland

This symposium continues a growing initiative to identify, refine and implement alternative methods to CO2 for humanely ending the life of mice, rats, poultry and pigs to improve animal welfare in the laboratory, the slaughterhouse and during emergency depopulation.
The symposium will comprise keynote lectures including an introduction to the basic sciences underlying killing and stunning, and for the first time, presentations selected from submitted abstracts.
Abstract submissions for oral presentation or posters covering topics on humanely ending the life of ani-mals such as those outlined in the publication: Steiner et al (2019) https://www.mdpi.com/2076-2615/9/11/911 are very welcome. The Swiss Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office FSVO particularly encourages abstract submissions from young scientists.
The abstracts submitted before July the 17th, 2020, to Ingrid.kohler@blv.admin.ch will be evaluated by the scientific committee.
