SOPs (UZH/ETH AWOs)
Common SOPs
The veterinary office ZH as well as the VPs Research of UZH and ETH asked the Offices for Animal Welfare and 3Rs to establish common SOPs for often used procedures.
In the meantime a few SOPs were established.
If you want to share recently approved SOPs with other researchers you can send your SOPs with the corresponding license numbers to the AWOs (tierwohl(at)research.uzh.ch).

Guidance for surgical procedures in laboratory rodents at UZH
The UZH Working Group on Aseptic Surgical Technique in Rodents prepared a "Checklist for surgical procedures in laboratory rodents at UZH" (PDF, 89 KB) and a table of “Materials needed to meet the standards for surgical procedures in laboratory rodents at UZH” (PDF, 123 KB)
The main goal of these documents is to support researchers who are planning to perform surgical procedures in laboratory rodents by providing guidance and orientation, with focus on aseptic surgical technique. The checklist is rather general because its aim is to cover broad options, e.g. given the variety of surgical set-ups. Please note these are “living” documents that may be updated as needed.
If you have feedback on these documents, please contact the coordinator of the UZH Working Group on Aseptic Surgical Technique in Rodents, Corina Berset.
