The LASC supports biomedical research of the University of Zurich with its services, in particular by providing veterinary services and keeping laboratory animals.
On the LASC website you will find more information about animal husbandry, ordering, import and export of animals, iRATS etc.
Orders and imports of animals can only be processed through the LASC. You will find all necessary information on the LASC website.
The import and export of animals and animal products is regulated by various laws and conventions (protection of species and animal diseases). The BLV provides the necessary information on the website "Import" and "Export" or by email to info@blv.admin.ch.
If you want to bring cells or other animal products to the LASC, please inform yourself here.
For work with genetically modified or hazardous organisms, notifications and applications for authorisation must be submitted to the competent authority: Biosafety & Biotechnology (FOEN).
If narcotics or analgesics are used that fall under the narcotics legislation (Narcotics Law, Federal Law on Narcotics, SR 812.121, see "Lists"), a licence must be applied for at the cantonal therapeutic products inspection.
